Facebook's Whatsapp has launched a desktop version of its world famous IM app.
In a blog post, Whatsapp said the desktop app is "simply an extension of your phone: the app mirrors conversations and messages from your mobile device."
The app simply allows users to chat with their contacts on desktops while their mobile phones remain in their pockets.
The desktop app is available for Windows 8+ and Mac OS 10.9+ and is synced with WhatsApp on your mobile device. The app runs natively on desktops, which means it supports native desktop notifications, better keyboard shortcuts, and more.
To download the app, users will have to visit https://www.whatsapp.com/download on a desktop browser, open the app and scan the QR code using the WhatsApp app on their phones.
