Police Affairs Minister, Abdul-Jelili Adesiyan has said the Boko Haram sect abducted the schoolgirls of Chibok, Borno State to get global attention.
He told Daily Trust at the weekend that the seizure of the girls was to press home their demands which he describe as unknown and unorthodox.
The Minister while reiterating the commitment of President Goodluck Jonathan to have the girls returned safely, said his principal was concerned about the well-being of all Nigerians.
Adesiyan accused the opposition of using the abduction of the schoolgirls to stop President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.
