Factional president of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Chinedu Okoronkwo, in an interview by the TelegraphOnline explained why kerosene isn't readily available as petrol in Nigeria.

"Kerosene now is very scarce. The quantity released is not as big as that of petrol. Petrol is there for you to pick, but kerosene is not. So, what you are given is what you will sell at government regulated price of N50."

According to him, PPMC only can answer why the product is not as available as petrol in the country. "Our own is to get the product and sell to the final consumers," he said.

"We are not into importation or refining and that is why IPMAN would want to establish its refineries. We have gotten land in Kogi and soon we are going to establish refinery in Akwa Ibom. So, if we have direct control of the products, then Nigerians would see the products.

"If you go to the depots you will not see kerosene, you can only get petrol and AGO. If we start getting kerosene as we used to we will sell.
