On Wednesday, a former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof Ishaq Oloyede, has explained why the 2005 National Political Reforms Conference, organised by the then President Olusegun Obasanjo failed.
Oloyede, a co-chair of the 2005 Conference and now a delegate to the 2014 National Conference, said, “It (the 2005 Conference) failed because the National Assembly was not carried along, pure and simple.
“Because the National Assembly that had the powers was not convinced of what we were doing, therefore when the President (Obasanjo) presented it to them, they just dumped it.
