Hon. Evans Bipi, the leader of the six members of the Rivers State House of Assembly opposed to Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, yesterday insisted that the governor has committed a lot of impeachable offences.
The State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari, at a news briefing in Port Harcourt yesterday, had alleged that six opposition lawmakers were sitting at two different locations, including a hotel, in a bid to impeach the governor.
According to Semenitari: “The Rivers State government is all more worried, as the Ondo saga is coming on the heels of a plot by six PDP lawmakers this morning (Thursday) to carry out a kangaroo impeachment of the duly elected governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, first at Krisdara Hotels and later Bauchi Street, Port Harcourt,” she said, describing such move as illegal and unconstitutional.
