Sports World Cup Update: We are in Brazil for serious business- Keshi

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has reiterated his side's commitment to give their best as Nigeria looks forward to start their FIFA world cup campaign against Iran on June 16.

Many Nigerians were disappointed after coach Keshi-led Eagles drew against Scotland and Greece, while losing their last warm-up match against the United States of America 2-1.

The 2013 coach of the year however insisted that the Eagles should not be judged from the result of the friendlies, saying that they are not a true reflection of the strength of the team.

Keshi further explained that the warm-up games were played to serve as a platform for the team to blend, adding that the team are ready to do serious business in Brazil.

"We are in Brazil for serious business," Keshi was quoted as saying on KickOffNigeria.com

"Friendlies are meant to serve as rehearsals; they are different from competitive matches.

“This is not an excuse for our performance in the matches, but seriously speaking, the results do not mean anything to me, evaluate us in the World Cup."
