PM Morgan Tsvangirai has called Wednesday’s Zimbabwe electoral polls a ‘huge farce’, declaring it ‘null and void’.
He accused his rival, President Robert Mugabe, of rigging the votes, saying that up to one million Zimbabweans were prevented from voting.
Mugabe’s camp, however, is claiming a victory and denying the accusation, saying the voting process was smooth, free and fair.
As it is illegal to publish unofficial election results, Zimbabwe Police have issued a warning to the public that anyone caught trying to leak early results will face severe action.
Regional observers however say the elections were conducted in a peaceful atmosphere.
