Late Wednesday night, a devastating rainstorm struck the Medium Security Custodial Centre in Suleja, Niger State, resulting in significant damage to the facility's infrastructure.
According to AS Duza, the Deputy Superintendent of Corrections Command Public Relations Officer for the FCT Command, the storm destroyed a section of the custodial facility's perimeter fence, facilitating the escape of 119 inmates.
The rainstorm also caused damage to surrounding buildings in the area. Authorities are currently assessing the situation, and further updates are expected as the investigation unfolds.
