Rangers international of Enugu have denied knowledge of the transfer move of Ejike Uzoenyi to Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.

Details emerged on Saturday that Uzoenyi has signed a four-year deal with Sundowns and is set to join the South African club in June.

The diminutive winger who emerged as the best player of the last African Nations Championship(CHAN) was said to have signed an extension to his contract with Rangers, after turning down a deal with Romanian side FC Vaslui.

Media officer of Rangers Foster Chime, insisted that the club does not know about the deal with Sundowns.

“We are just hearing of this purported move in the media. No team has approached us for the services of Ejike Uzoenyi,” Chime told MTNFootball.com.

“Maybe what we have now is the antics of an agent who wants to finish with the player before coming to his club.

“We are waiting as Ejike remains our player and we have just negotiated a new contract with him and other players for the coming season.”
