Super Eagles defender,Godfrey Oboabona has signed a four-year deal with Turkish clubside,Caykir Rizespor.
The future of the former Sunshine Stars captain has been the subject of speculation,and he was once linked with having a trial with Arsenal,which he denied.
Oboabona was said to have undergone a medical,with Rizespor on Wednesday,and will be unveiled as their player today.
The Turkish club is believed to have paid Sunshine Stars 650,000 Euros for the 22-year old.
Rizespor said in a statement on their official site: “Premier League team of Nigeria and the Nigerian National Team player Godfrey Oboabona Itama Sunshine Stars stopper born 16.08.1990 in all matters of principle, an agreement was made with the club.”
Seems like the Turkish league is becoming a new haven for Nigerian players.
