In a shocking incident in Ibadan, Oyo State, a 20-year-old suspected Yahoo Boy named Daniel Bamidele was arrested for stabbing his parents. The attack occurred in their home in the Apabielesin area. Daniel's mother, Titilayo, ran out of the house with serious injuries, seeking help, as her son attacked both her and his father with a machete. Bystanders rushed to their aid, disarmed Daniel, and held him down.
Daniel, involved in cybercrime, claimed his parents were aware of his illicit activities, including building a three-bedroom bungalow with the proceeds. He accused his mother and elder brother of attempting to defraud him of ₦2.5 million, despite his promise to set up a store for her. Daniel admitted luring his mother from a church program to attack her, stating that the assault was triggered by her providing a fake name, disrupting the efficacy of a black magic soap.
However, Titilayo denied taking money from Daniel, asserting that he exhibited signs of mental illness. Daniel's father accused his wife of complicity in their son's cybercrime activities. The shocking incident reveals a dark side of familial discord intertwined with criminal pursuits.
