An anonymous individual within Mr. Peter Obi's campaign team, the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party during the last general election, has been accused of embezzling a sum of N60 million donated to his campaign. @MissPearls, a vocal supporter of Obi, took to social media on Sunday to publicly allege the misappropriation.

According to her posts on X handle, someone generously donated N60,000,000.00 to support Obi's campaign, but a greedy intermediary allegedly pocketed the entire sum. She further revealed that Obi has become aware of the incident and is adamant that the unnamed middleman must refund the donor. @MissPearls emphasized her trust in Obi's integrity, suggesting that corruption cannot thrive in his circle without consequences.

She expressed anticipation for the unfolding events in the coming days. DAILY POST reached out to Yunusa Tanko, one of Obi's campaign spokespersons, for comments on the matter. While Tanko did not confirm the incident, he reiterated Obi's stance on accountability for funds received. Tanko emphasized that Obi has consistently emphasized the need for transparency in handling campaign finances, urging recipients of donations to provide clear records of expenditures.

Tanko underscored Obi's commitment to ensuring accountability and transparency in campaign financing, indicating that any discrepancies would be addressed accordingly.
