Air Peace, one of Nigeria’s largest airlines, will increase domestic flight fares starting November 1, 2024. A leaked internal memo reveals price hikes across business and economy classes due to rising operational costs and economic pressures. Existing fares apply until October 31, with no-show fees also set to rise.

Air Peace, one of Nigeria’s major airlines, will implement higher domestic flight fares starting November 1, 2024, according to an internal memo circulating on social media. Confirmed by a senior airline staff member, the memo, originally intended for private partners, was leaked publicly. The fare adjustments reflect a significant price increase across business and economy classes.

In the new fare structure, business class under booking class “J” will rise from 250,000 to 400,000 naira, a 60% increase. Similarly, class “C” fares will go from 200,000 to 330,000 naira, up by 65%. Economy class tickets will see substantial hikes as well, with class “Y” doubling from 150,100 to 300,000 naira, representing a 100% increase. Other economy fares will vary from 120,000 to 210,000 naira.

The memo states that current fares will remain valid for flights booked by October 31, and new fares will be refundable without change fees, though the no-show fee will increase from 10,000 to 15,000 naira. This fare review comes amid rising operational costs, currency fluctuations, and high fuel prices, factors affecting the airline industry nationwide.

As these economic challenges continue, frequent travelers may face higher costs on domestic routes, impacting travel demand. Air Peace has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
