A tumultuous incident unfolded at the private residence of the late Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, as journalists covering the condolence visit of Nigerian Governors’ Forum Chairman, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde were ordered to leave by Akeredolu's daughter, Ololade Akeredolu. The daughter argued that it was a private residence, not a Government House.

Despite the tense encounter, intervention from colleagues eased the situation. Abdulrazaq and Makinde, after visiting the mourning family, addressed the waiting journalists, expressing condolences and praising Akeredolu's significant contributions to politics and humanity.

The incident sheds light on the delicate balance between media access, private spaces, and public figures during times of grief, prompting reflections on press freedom and the dynamics of political mourning.
