Alan Fisher, an Irish chef, has claimed two Guinness World Records titles in the realm of cooking. Fisher, who owns and runs a restaurant in Japan, first achieved the longest cooking marathon (individual) by spending an astonishing 119 hours and 57 minutes continuously cooking. This feat surpassed the previous record held by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci by over 24 hours.

What makes Fisher's achievements even more remarkable is that he took on both records back to back, dedicating over 160 hours in the kitchen with just over a day of rest in between. Alongside the longest cooking marathon, he also conquered the longest baking marathon (individual), completing it in 47 hours and 21 minutes. The previous record holder, Wendy Sandner from the USA, had a time of 31 hours and 16 minutes.

During his culinary marathons, Fisher produced 357 kg of soda bread and 590 kg worth of dishes, including 3,360 portions comprising 32 different recipes. His incredible endurance in the kitchen has earned him recognition by the Guinness World Records, and his dedication exemplifies his passion for cooking.

This achievement comes nearly five months after Hilda Baci from Nigeria broke the previous record, taking it from India's Lata Tondon, and spending 87 hours and 45 minutes cooking continuously. Hilda's motivation was to showcase Nigerian cuisine and inspire young African women to pursue their dreams. These record-breaking feats have brought attention to the endurance and creativity of chefs around the world.
