The APC dismissed Peter Obi as a "serial complainer" following his criticism of the Edo governorship election. Felix Morka, APC spokesperson, said Obi's refusal to accept election results is irrelevant. He urged defeated candidates to pursue legal action, citing unsubstantiated claims.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed Peter Obi, the Labour Party's 2023 presidential candidate, as a "serial complainer" who refuses to accept electoral outcomes not in his favor. Felix Morka, the APC spokesperson, made this remark during an interview with Arise Television, responding to Obi's criticism of the Edo governorship election.
Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, had condemned the election, calling it a "blatant example of state capture." However, Morka argued that Obi's opinion on the election was irrelevant, emphasizing that the politician has refused to accept the results of both the 2023 presidential election and the Edo election.
"Peter Obi has been in denial since the 2023 elections, and now, he's fixated on the Edo election. His views on the matter are inconsequential," Morka said.
Morka urged candidates like Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party and Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who lost the Edo election, to seek legal action if they felt the results were unjust. He criticized Obi and others for making unsubstantiated allegations without providing concrete evidence.
In the election, Monday Okpebholo, the APC candidate, was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), securing 291,667 votes. His closest rival, Asue Ighodalo of the PDP, garnered 247,655 votes, while Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party finished third with 22,763 votes.
