In preparation for the upcoming February 3 National and State Houses of Assembly bye-elections, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced significant costs for its Expression of Interest and Nomination forms. The party has set the price for senatorial contestants at a staggering N20 million, with House of Representatives forms at N10 million and State House of Assembly forms at N2 million.
The APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Argungu, revealed the breakdown, indicating that the expression of interest form for the senatorial seat is N3 million, and the nomination form is N17 million.
Argungu also outlined costs for House of Representatives and State House of Assembly aspirants. Notably, female aspirants and those with disabilities will receive free expression of interest forms, while youths aged 25 to 40 will enjoy a 50% discount on the expression of interest and nomination forms.
Delegates nominating candidates will purchase forms at N5,000. The sale of forms begins on December 27, 2023, with the submission deadline on January 3, 2024. Primary elections are scheduled for January 6, 2024, with the list of candidates sent to INEC by January 9, 2024.
