APC Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje declares Rivers State the party's next target for the 2027 elections. Speaking at the inauguration of new Rivers APC executives, Ganduje highlighted recent wins in Cross River and Edo, urging grassroots mobilization and unity to challenge PDP’s dominance in the South-South region.
National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has declared Rivers State as the party’s next political focus ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking on Saturday, December 14, 2024, during the inauguration of Tony Okocha and 22 others as Rivers APC executive members, Ganduje outlined plans to weaken the dominance of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the oil-rich state.
Referencing successes in Cross River and Edo States under the APC administrations of Muhammadu Buhari and Tinubu, respectively, Ganduje expressed confidence in replicating these achievements. “Rivers, you are next. We are determined to make our presence felt and strengthen our party here,” he said.
Ganduje urged the newly inaugurated executives to focus on grassroots mobilization, expanding the party's membership, and fostering internal democracy. He also emphasized the importance of effective conflict resolution and unity within the party.
By holding the inauguration in Rivers, rather than Abuja, Ganduje said the APC aims to solidify its grassroots connections and align the state and national leadership.
