Hamza Abdullahi, an EFCC witness, appeared before Y. Halilu, the judge at the FCT High Court, narrating how N4.6 billion from the arms deal was traced to the son of Attahiru Bafarawa, former Sokoto State Governor.
The defendants, including Bafarawa and his son Sagir, are facing charges related to misappropriation and criminal breach of trust linked to funds allegedly misused during Sambo Dasuki's tenure as NSA.
Abdullahi revealed that the substantial sum was found in the account of Dalhatu Investment Limited, a company owned by Bafarawa's son, where Sagir was the sole signatory.
The witness provided details of the investigation, emphasizing the voluntary nature of Sagir's statements, and denying any coercion or inducement during the process. The case has been adjourned to May 22, 2024, as the trial continues.
