Atiku Abubakar, the runner-up in the February 25 presidential election and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has extended an invitation to Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to join forces with him in challenging President Bola Tinubu's victory. Although Atiku's petition contesting the election's outcome was rejected by the Presidential Tribunal, he continued to pursue the case in a US court, which later ordered the release of official documents Atiku intends to present in his Supreme Court appeal.
At a press conference in Abuja, Atiku expressed his concern over the certificate scandal surrounding Tinubu's eligibility to run for office. He called on all well-meaning Nigerians, political leaders, religious leaders, traditional leaders, and others who care about the country's future to join him in promoting transparency, accountability, and justice in Nigerian politics.
Atiku emphasized that this endeavor was not just about him but about establishing truth, morality, and accountability in the nation's public affairs. He thanked his legal team for their efforts in bringing clarity to this long-standing issue
