An 86-year-old woman is embroiled in a desperate battle to recover N19 million after falling victim to a blind herbalist's scam. The elderly woman, identified as Madam Alimot, sought the herbalist's help to cure her daughter's illness and perform money rituals to save her remaining children from death.
The blind herbalist, Owolabi Adefemi, promised to heal the daughter and avert the looming tragedy through an atonement involving a cow sacrifice. Madam Alimot provided the funds for the sacrifice, but the herbalist continued to demand more money for unexpected sacrifices, ultimately totaling N19 million.
Tragically, the woman and her children realized they had been scammed when it was too late. They had sold two properties to meet the herbalist's demands, leaving them homeless and financially devastated.
Furthermore, the herbalist allegedly lured Madam Alimot's daughter into a sexual relationship. The daughter's love affair with the herbalist, along with other deceptions, intensified the family's suffering.
Madam Alimot and her family are now pleading for justice and the return of their defrauded funds. The blind herbalist, who initially claimed innocence, admitted to the fraud and promised to refund a portion of the money.
