A brave nurse at a private hospital in Bihar, India, fended off a gang-rape attempt by a drunken doctor and his associates. After inflicting injuries on the attacker with a blade, she escaped and reported the incident to the police, leading to the arrest of the assailants.
In a shocking incident at a private hospital in Bihar, India, a nurse successfully thwarted a gang-rape attempt by a group that included a doctor who served as the hospital's administrator. This attack occurred just a month after the murder of a trainee doctor in Kolkata sparked nationwide outrage.
The nurse was completing her shift at the RBS Health Care Centre in Gangapur when Dr. Sanjay Kumar, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, and two associates attempted to assault her. In a desperate bid to escape, the nurse used a blade to inflict a serious injury on the doctor's genitals. This brave act allowed her to flee the scene and seek help from the police.
Upon receiving the nurse's report, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kumar Pandey dispatched a team to the hospital, leading to the arrest of the assailants, including Dr. Kumar. Authorities discovered that the men had locked the hospital doors and disabled the CCTV cameras prior to the assault.
The police also recovered evidence, including liquor, the blade used by the nurse, and blood-stained clothing. Given Bihar's prohibition laws, the suspects will face additional charges for alcohol consumption. Dr. Sanjay Kumar, known to be affiliated with the Hindu Samaj Party, now faces serious allegations that highlight the need for increased safety measures for healthcare workers in India.
