Operatives from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, part of the Rapid Response Squad 74, apprehended a pastor, Simon Kado, his relative Jesse Simon-Kado, and their driver, Muhammad Isah, in connection with child trafficking.

The arrests occurred on Friday as the suspects were transporting 12 underage children, aged between five and 16, from Nasarawa State to Ogun State.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, disclosed the incident in a statement, revealing that the children, hailing from Akwanga LGA, Nasarawa State, were destined for Ogun State. Investigations are ongoing, with collaboration between FCT and Nasarawa State Police Command to reunite the victims with their families.

This incident sheds light on the growing issue of child trafficking, emphasizing the need for vigilant law enforcement.

Commissioner of Police FCT, Benneth Igweh, assures residents that their safety remains a top priority amid recent surges in kidnapping and bandit attacks in the FCT.
