Super Eagles and A.C. Milan winger, Samuel Chukwueze, has garnered commendation from his club coach, Stefan Pioli, following an outstanding performance in Milan’s 3-0 triumph over Lecce.
Chukwueze, who joined Milan from Villareal last summer in a deal worth €20m plus additional bonuses, initially faced criticism for his slow start at the club.
Despite failing to score in Serie A during his first six months and only showcasing glimpses of his quality in the UEFA Champions League, the Nigerian forward has experienced a resurgence in the latter part of the season.
His notable contribution against Lecce, including a brilliant assist for Christian Pulisic's goal, earned him praise from Pioli. The coach remarked on Chukwueze's improved confidence, positivity, and understanding of the team's dynamics on the field.
Pioli expressed satisfaction with the player's perseverance through challenging times and acknowledged the pressure faced by the team.
With Milan set to face AS Roma in the UEFA Europa League quarter-final, Chukwueze aims to build on his recent positive performance and contribute further to his team's success.
