The Lagos State Government has issued a directive mandating all supermarkets and grocery stores in the state to prominently display price tags on all products or face possible closure.

This move, announced by the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA), aims to ensure transparency and protect consumers from potential price exploitation.

Mr. Afolabi Solebo, the General Manager of LASCOPA, emphasized that the absence of price tags infringes upon consumer rights and violates the state's consumer protection laws.

He highlighted the importance of informed purchasing decisions and urged consumers to report any instances of non-compliance. This initiative seeks to enhance consumer confidence and foster a fair shopping environment for all.
