The Niger State administration is set to take disciplinary action against schoolteachers following a viral video featuring a primary school pupil, AbdulKabir AbdulKadir, expressing vehement opinions during a classroom debate.
The student criticized mandatory voting in Nigeria, citing a corrupt judicial system, electoral officials, and alleged election rigging. The pupil's scathing remarks extended to President Bola Tinubu, attributing the country's impoverishment to his leadership. Niger State Commissioner of Basic and Secondary Education, Hadiza Mohammed, denounced the use of vulgar and violent language in the debate, emphasizing its incompatibility with educational norms.
Mohammed pledged to investigate the incident further, vowing appropriate disciplinary measures against those responsible for coaching the student.
