Nigerian TikToker SeaKing has been arrested over the alleged cyberbullying of Pastor Enoch Adeboye. His detention, initially linked to criticism of Tinubu, was later claimed by a Christian group citing his controversial remarks on Adeboye’s statements. The arrest has sparked debates on free speech and rising cyberstalking detentions in Nigeria.

Nigerian TikToker SeaKing has been arrested, sparking controversy over freedom of speech. Initially, his sudden detention and transfer to Abuja were linked to his past criticism of President Bola Tinubu and the Inspector General of Police. However, a Christian group has now claimed responsibility, citing his alleged cyberbullying of Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

The group referenced multiple videos where SeaKing criticized Adeboye, including one in which the pastor claimed his prayers prevented the dollar from reaching ₦10,000. SeaKing also condemned Adeboye’s frequent calls for prayers regarding Nigeria’s worsening economy, questioning why he protested during former President Goodluck Jonathan’s tenure but remains silent under the current administration.

In a recent video, SeaKing also reacted to Adeboye’s 2025 prophecy, warning Nigerians to be cautious of fire outbreaks. His criticism suggested frustration with religious leaders who, in his view, fail to hold politicians accountable but encourage citizens to rely on divine intervention.

Legal efforts to secure his bail have been unsuccessful, as authorities remain unresponsive. This arrest adds to growing concerns about rising cyberstalking-related detentions in Nigeria. Since February 2023, more individuals have been arrested for online speech than in the previous decade combined.
