Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu's Special Adviser on Information & Strategy, accused Peter Obi's supporters, known as the 'Obidient Movement,' of expressing happiness over the depreciation of Nigeria's currency, the Naira, against the dollar.

Speaking on Seun Okinbaloye's 'Mic On' podcast, Onanuga asserted that Obi's camp deliberately aimed to undermine the Tinubu administration by portraying it as a failure, despite its recent assumption of office.

He criticized Obi's alleged refusal to acknowledge government achievements while quickly condemning perceived failures. Onanuga dismissed claims that Obi, who came third in the 2023 presidential election, was robbed of his mandate, labeling such assertions as baseless.

However, reactions from Nigerians on social media varied, with many questioning the credibility of Onanuga's statements and expressing skepticism about his political motivations. Obi's camp has yet to respond to these allegations, raising concerns about escalating tensions within Nigeria's political sphere.
