DaddyFreeze supports Nigeria's Health Minister's claims that patients from the UK and the US are choosing Nigeria for medical care. He shares personal experiences of over 30 individuals traveling from the West to access affordable and timely treatments, citing long waiting times and expensive alternatives abroad.
Dayo Olarinde, better known as DaddyFreeze, has expressed support for the claims made by Nigeria's Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate. During a briefing at the Presidential Villa on February 4, Pate highlighted that Nigeria’s healthcare system is attracting international patients, including from the UK and US, due to significant improvements in healthcare services. Pate emphasized that the country’s medical sector is progressing, despite ongoing challenges, and has seen a growing number of international patients, particularly from Western countries.
While many Nigerians were skeptical about the minister’s statements, DaddyFreeze has come forward to confirm them. He stated that in the past two years, he has personally known of over 30 individuals who traveled from the UK, US, and Canada to seek medical care in Nigeria. These patients reportedly chose Nigeria for various reasons, such as lengthy waiting times and expensive private healthcare options in their home countries.
The media personality explained that patients often seek medical treatment in Nigeria because of the quicker access to care and the lower cost compared to the high fees charged by private hospitals abroad. The growing trend of Nigerians seeking medical care locally is seen as a sign of progress for the country’s healthcare system, which is slowly gaining recognition for providing quality medical services at competitive prices.
