Afrobeats sensation Davido has responded to accusations made by former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president Amaju Pinnick regarding his absence from a show in Warri, Delta State. Pinnick alleged that Davido failed to attend the show despite receiving payment of $94,600 and a private jet worth $18,000 arranged for his travel.
In response, Davido explained that he had informed the show promoters well in advance that he would not be able to attend the event. Despite this, the promoters continued to promote the show using his name and images.
Taking to his Instagram handle, Davido apologized to his fans in Warri who had spent their hard-earned money to attend the show and expressed his disappointment at the situation. He assured them that he would make it up to them, promising a future event in Delta State that would be done "properly, bigger and better."
Amaju Pinnick had previously called on Davido not to let fame make him proud, asserting that he is not Nigeria's biggest artist
