The Delta State governorship election petition tribunal has made a significant ruling in the case of Sheriff Oborevwori and Ovie Omo-Agege. The tribunal upheld the victory of Sheriff Oborevwori, dismissing the challenge posed by Omo-Agege, the former deputy senate president. According to Arise News, the tribunal, led by Chibuzo Ahuchaogu, rejected the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate Omo-Agege's petition because it lacked merit.

The tribunal stated that the allegations presented by the petitioners were speculative and not supported by conclusive evidence. The APC candidate needed to adhere more to the Electoral Act or corrupt practices.

In the March 18 governorship election, Omo-Agege of the APC received 240,229 votes. However, he was defeated by Oborevwori of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who won with a commanding lead, securing 360,234 votes.
