The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken steps to bring former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Diezani Alison-Madueke, to justice. According to Dele Oyewale, the Acting Head of Media and Publicity for the EFCC, the anti-corruption agency has secured an arrest warrant for Alison-Madueke and has initiated extradition proceedings to bring her back to Nigeria.

Oyewale emphasized that criminality knows no jurisdictional boundaries, and no crime should go unpunished. The money laundering charges against Alison-Madueke span multiple jurisdictions, including Dubai, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Nigeria.

The EFCC's efforts to bring her to trial in Nigeria involve obtaining an arrest warrant and initiating extradition proceedings. Oyewale confirmed that the Commission is actively pursuing her case and that she will soon face trial in Nigerian courts.

Alison-Madueke, who served as Nigeria's Minister of Petroleum Resources between 2010 and 2015, has faced multiple allegations of corruption and money laundering. The EFCC's actions reflect the commitment to hold individuals accountable for financial crimes regardless of where they may be located.
