The decision was made during a meeting held by the party's executive committee in Ayetoro Gbede, Ward 1, where they reviewed the findings of a disciplinary committee that investigated Melaye's actions.
The party officials highlighted Melaye's failure to respond to a summons, which contributed to their decision to suspend him. They expressed concern that his behavior had brought significant embarrassment to the party, deeming it inappropriate for him to remain a member.
The resolution, which was signed by the Ward Chairman, Abayomi Osamika, and Secretary Yodson Dayo, emphasized that the suspension is in accordance with Article 59 (1) of the PDP constitution. This article grants the ward executives the authority to take disciplinary measures against members who act against the party’s interests. The suspension is effective immediately.
