The heat was won by the USA in 37.47 seconds, with South Africa securing second place at 37.94 seconds.
Similarly, Nigeria’s women’s relay team, featuring Justina Eyakpobeyan, Favour Ofili, Rosemary Chukwuma, and Tima Godbless, also did not advance to the final. They placed 6th in their heat with a season-best time of 42.70 seconds.
Additionally, Nigerian athlete Edose Ibadin failed to progress in the men's 800m event, finishing 7th in his repechage heat with a time of 1:49.09.
