Lagos State's Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, announced a startling discovery on Wednesday, revealing the existence of an apartment complex beneath the Dolphin Estate Bridge in Ikoyi.

This hidden residential area, accommodating tenants who pay N250,000 in annual rent, comprised 86 partitioned rooms, sized at 10×10 and 12×10. Wahab shared this revelation through a post on X.com, accompanied by videos showcasing the eviction of illegal settlers and removal of structures, including a container used for various illegal activities.

Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Kunle Rotimi-Akodu, confirmed the eviction, stating that 23 individuals were arrested during the operation conducted by officials of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps.

The eviction aimed to address the precarious living conditions and potential safety hazards posed by the unauthorized settlement under the bridge.
