The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has ordered the cessation of night-time sting operations in all of the commission's commands. This directive came in response to the recent arrest of 69 suspected internet fraudsters in Ile-Ife, Osun State, by operatives from the Ibadan zonal command of the EFCC. The spokesperson for the anti-graft agency, Dele Oyewale, relayed this development in a statement.

Oyewale explained, "The chairman gave the directive in Abuja on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, in reaction to the arrest of 69 suspected internet fraudsters in Ile-Ife, Osun State, by operatives of the Ibadan zonal command of the commission."

In light of this directive, many of the arrested suspects have been released, while the profiling of those who have not yet been released will be completed without further delay. The EFCC emphasized its commitment to upholding the rule of law while executing its mandate
