The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has announced its intention to file charges against Nigerian Air Force (NAF) personnel involved in a confrontation at the Kaduna command of the anti-graft agency.
The incident unfolded on Friday when EFCC operatives clashed with NAF personnel over the arrest of suspected fraudsters.
The EFCC had initially apprehended five suspects based on credible intelligence, but the situation escalated when NAF officers and two students attempted to free the detainees.
Although the NAF officers were released on administrative bail, EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale confirmed that they will face court charges upon the conclusion of the ongoing investigation.
Oyewale emphasized the commitment to due process and the principle that "no one is above the law."
