The Osun State Police Command has apprehended Prince Eniola Oyeyode, the son of Ejigbo's Ogiyan, Oba Oyeyode Oyesosin, in connection with the killing of US-based lecturer, Dr. Richard Idowu Adeoriokin.

The incident unfolded at Prince Eniola's residence in Ejigbo town after the 50th Coronation Anniversary of the monarch. Reportedly, a local hunter, under Prince Eniola's directive, fired a double-barrel gun into the air to check its functionality.

Tragically, the guard shot directly at Dr. Adeoriokin, leading to his demise.

According to the Osun State Police Command's spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, Prince Oyeyode ordered his civilian guard, Hammed Abdul Jelili, to perform the gun test, resulting in the fatal outcome.

The victim was swiftly rushed to a private hospital but was pronounced dead by the attending doctor. Prince Eniola Oyeyode has been arrested and detained in connection with the incident.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Bzigu Dali Kwazhi, assures the public, particularly Ejigbo residents, of a thorough and discreet investigation into the matter.
