The 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, made his first official trip since his return to Kano and subsequent settlement at the Nassarawa Mini Palace. On Saturday, Bayero attended the annual peace prayer for the nation, organized by the Isyaku Rabiu family, marking a significant public appearance for the embattled Emir.
The peace prayer, a revered tradition, involves the recitation of the Holy Qur’an up to 3,000 times during the first Islamic month, seeking peace, prosperity, and progress for the country. Bayero’s presence on the last day of this year's prayers underscored the importance of the event and his commitment to peace and unity in the region.
“This visit signifies a new era of engagement and unity,” said Ibrahim Suleiman, a local elder. “Bayero’s active participation in the prayer for peace reflects his deep commitment to the well-being of our nation.”
This visit is particularly noteworthy as it marks Bayero's first official outing after a period of political and social turbulence. His return to public life is seen as a stabilizing factor for the region, potentially fostering greater political and social harmony.
