In a thought-provoking address at the book launch of "APC and Transition Politics," former Ekiti State Governor Dr. Kayode Fayemi calls on the All Progressives Congress (APC) to step out of the role of a mere spectator in policymaking. Fayemi emphasizes the importance of the party projecting its manifesto for effective implementation, urging party leaders, led by Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, to convey genuine feedback from Nigerians to President Bola Tinubu.

Fayemi, recognizing the author Salihu Lukman as the conscience of the APC, advocates for leaders at all levels to use Lukman's message as a catalyst for rebuilding the party. He stresses that the APC should play an active role in policy formulation and communicate the sentiments of the communities directly to the president, rather than relying on information from the presidential villa.

The former governor asserts, "This party should not be a spectator in policymaking. This party should be the one that should project the manifesto of the party." He emphasizes that party leaders should be the conduit for real feedback from the grassroots, providing a more accurate representation of the concerns and aspirations of Nigerians.

Meanwhile, former APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, responds to Lukman's critique in good faith but highlights the need for internal dispute resolution before public criticism. Oshiomhole, while acknowledging the author's right to express opinions, points out that Lukman failed to recognize the positive contributions made during his leadership, including significant financial support for APC campaigns.

In his closing remarks, Lukman clarifies that the purpose of writing the book is to stimulate discussion within the party, hoping that party leaders will embrace and integrate its principles into the party's structure. He expresses confidence in the future of the APC under the leadership of Abdullahi Umar Ganduje and pledges to continue offering critical support to revitalize the party's structures.

The event, marked by diverse perspectives and discussions, reflects the party's commitment to progressive governance and the ongoing efforts to shape a better future for Nigerians
