In a recent statement, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike responded to his critics by declaring himself "blind and deaf" to their comments. Speaking at the launch of the design and construction of an office annex for the Body of Benchers in Abuja, Wike emphasized that his focus remains on his responsibility to develop the FCT.
Wike explained that as a politician, he maintains a thick skin and does not pay attention to negative comments. He further added that a politician must develop three key qualities: the ability to not see, hear, or respond to criticism. He stressed that despite his detractors, he would continue working for the good of the country and would not waste time on replies.
His statement came as part of his broader efforts to remain steadfast in his duties as a public official, irrespective of external pressures. By claiming to be unaffected by criticism, Wike reinforced his commitment to carrying out his responsibilities without being distracted by personal attacks.
