
The Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT), Federal Capital Territory wing, has suspended the ongoing indefinite strike by primary and secondary school teachers with immediate effect. The decision followed an emergency meeting after FCT Minister Nyesom Wike approved a N5 billion monthly commitment to address teachers' outstanding needs , N2 billion from FCT IGR and N3 billion from area councils' 10 percent IGR to implement the 40 percent peculiar allowance and settle outstanding entitlements.
