In the early hours of Thursday, a fire outbreak occurred at terminal one of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in Lagos, prompting immediate action from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
Obiageli Orah, FAAN's director of public affairs and consumer protection, confirmed the incident, indicating that terminal operations have been redirected to the D Wing in response to the emergency.
The diversion of flights aims to ensure the safety of passengers and personnel while authorities work to contain the fire and assess any damage caused. Further updates on the situation are expected as FAAN continues to address the incident at Lagos airport.
