Former Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Bonfrere Jo, has recommended the appointment of Emmanuel Amuneke as the head coach of the senior national team after the conclusion of Jose Peseiro's contract. Bonfrere expressed his endorsement in an interview with Voice of Nigeria (VON), emphasizing Amuneke's strong mentality, discipline, and technical proficiency as key qualities for achieving positive results.

Amuneke, a former coach of the Golden Eaglets, is among the favored candidates to succeed Peseiro, and he has confirmed submitting his application for the position. Bonfrere, renowned for leading Nigeria to Olympic gold in 1996, believes that Amuneke possesses the necessary attributes to guide the Super Eagles successfully.

The recommendation comes as the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) considers the selection of a new coach to lead the national team. Amuneke's coaching experience and Bonfrere's endorsement add weight to the prospect of him taking on a significant role in steering the future of Nigerian football.
