Naira Marley, also known as Azeez Fashola, has addressed allegations of involvement in the death of his former signee, Mohbad, during an interview with Reno Omokri. Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, passed away on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27. Following his demise, accusations were hurled at Naira Marley and Sam Larry, another figure in the music industry, alleging bullying and physical assault on Mohbad.

Naira Marley vehemently denied any role in Mohbad's death, stating, "No, definitely not." He emphasized that he had been out of Nigeria since August 31 and had been with his family during that time. Naira Marley clarified that Mohbad had left Marlian music prior to his passing and was free to continue making music.

Expressing his shock and sorrow upon learning of Mohbad's death, Naira Marley challenged those blaming him, asking, "If you're blaming me, how did I kill him? I have nothing to do with his death whatsoever." He also reiterated that he was not in Nigeria at the time of the incident.
