APC Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje declares the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) "dead" and anticipates the return of its leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso, to the ruling APC. Ganduje downplayed any future opposition coalition challenges, focusing instead on reinforcing APC unity ahead of future elections.

Abdullahi Ganduje, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), recently declared that the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) led by Rabiu Kwankwaso is no longer a significant political force in the country. Ganduje made these remarks during a meeting with members of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) at the APC national secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday. According to Ganduje, the NNPP is effectively “dead” and has lost its capacity to challenge the ruling party.

Ganduje even went as far as to humorously predict the party's imminent demise, stating, "The NNPP is dead. And it will soon be buried. The coffin is already built." He further indicated that the ongoing efforts by opposition leaders to form a coalition with the aim of ousting President Bola Tinubu will not succeed.

In addition to his comments about the NNPP, Ganduje expressed confidence that Kwankwaso, who was a presidential candidate under the NNPP banner in 2023, will soon return to the APC. He said that despite the tensions between the parties, the APC is open to welcoming Kwankwaso back.

Ganduje also took the opportunity to reassure APC support groups of their importance to the party, emphasizing their inclusion in future political plans. Additionally, the APC chairman announced the formation of a reconciliation committee ahead of the upcoming governorship election in Anambra.
