The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has pointed to politicians as the "biggest problem" in Nigeria's electoral system.
This revelation came to light during a meeting with Hawa Habibu, the director of election and party monitoring for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Ganduje acknowledged the prevalent concern of insecurity but emphasized that politicians themselves pose a significant hazard to the electoral process. While discussing the need for INEC to assess political party viability, Ganduje stressed the importance of educating politicians on the rules and regulations of elections, attributing challenges to the conduct of civilized politics.
This insight raises critical questions about the role of politicians in shaping the electoral landscape and calls for enhanced education to ensure compliance with electoral rules.
