Ghali Umar Na’Abba, a distinguished political figure and former Speaker of the House of Representatives, breathed his last in Abuja at 65. Family sources report that Na’Abba succumbed to a prolonged illness that had been ailing him. Known for his significant contributions to Nigerian politics, he served as the Speaker from 1999 to 2003 and was affiliated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). His political journey included a victorious representation of the Kano Municipal Federal Constituency during the April 1999 general elections.

Despite health challenges that led to his medical evacuation abroad for treatment, Na’Abba made a resilient return to Nigeria.

The nation now mourns the loss of a political stalwart, and funeral arrangements are underway, following Islamic rites, with Abuja slated as the final resting place for the late statesman.
