In a recent statement issued by Chief Press Secretary Richard Olatunde, it has been revealed that Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu is set to proceed on medical leave starting December 13, 2023.
The governor, prioritizing his health for a full recovery, will formally transfer power to Deputy Governor Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa in line with the Nigerian Constitution.
This practice aligns with previous instances when Governor Akeredolu delegated power during annual vacations. A formal letter regarding the medical leave and the power transfer will be sent to the House of Assembly.
