In a disturbing incident, gunmen launched an attack on the residence of Kiyawa Local Government Chairman, Honorable Nasiru Ahmed Kiyawa, in Jigawa State, resulting in the abduction of his two wives. The Chairman recounted the harrowing experience, stating that the gunmen entered his home after the Isha'i prayer on Friday night, firing shots at his door and forcibly taking his wives hostage.
The Public Relations Officer of the state, DSP Lawan Adam Shiisu, confirmed the incident and reported that an emergency call prompted a swift response from law enforcement. Unfortunately, the gunmen had already abducted the chairman's wives before the police's arrival.
Efforts are now underway as the police force has deployed officers across the local government to secure the safe return of the kidnapped women. The police are actively seeking information that could lead to the capture of the abductors.
This incident underscores the ongoing security challenges in some regions of Nigeria, where residents continue to face threats from criminal elements, necessitating a coordinated response from law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of citizens.
